ブダペスト市では昨日、CEU大学の卒業式が行われ、創設者のジョージ・ソロス氏の息子、アレックスさんが卒業証書を学生に手渡しました。アレックスさんは祝辞で、CEUがこの2年、現政権による強硬政策に耐えてきたことを称えました。（アレックスさんは、ソロス氏創設のオープンソサエティ財団の副代表）

また、ハンガリー政府は、CEUは自らの意思でウィーンに行くことを決めたと主張するも、「CEUは禁じられた。結果、事実上、ハンガリーから追放になったのだ」と話しました。

これに対して、コヴァ―チ次官（国外広報担当）は直ちに自身のTwitterで反撃。CEUは、登記先の米国ではなんら実態のある教育を行っておらず、修了証書も発行していないのに、ハンガリーでのみ米国修了証書を発行しているなどとしました。

関連して、イグナティエフ学長は、オーストリア日刊紙Der Standardとのインタビューで、「オルバーンはハンガリー政治界を支配し、敵がほしかった。戦うにふさわしい大きく、危険な敵を。ジョージ・ソロスが存在しなかったら、オルバーンは創りあげていただろう。結果は、グロテスクそのもの。ブダペストで雨が降っても、ソロスのせいという感じだ」と述べました。

CEU問題を巡っては、欧州委員会が欧州司法裁判所（ルクセンブルグ）に改正高等教育法で提訴していますが、本年中には判決はでない見込み。

ハンガリー国立銀行（中央銀行）は本日、2019年の経済成長率を4.3％と、3月時点の予想3.8％から0.5ポイント引き上げました。

19年のインフレ見通しも若干上方修正し、3.2％に。

MOM Park隣接スポーツセンター屋上で火災、女児死亡
ブダペスト市内MOM Park隣接のスポーツセンターの屋上で24日18時半頃、火事があり、8歳の女児が死亡しました。
警察によると、女児と11歳の兄は公園で遊んでいましたが、母親が近くの買い物に行った間にスポーツセンターに入館。階段を上り、屋上を目指しました。屋上への扉は閉められていたため、窓を潜り抜け入りました。その後、使っていなかった木の小屋で遊んでいたところ出火。2人は逃げようとしたものの、妹は間に合わず。消防隊が救出したものの、蘇生はできませんでした。一方、兄は病院に搬送されたものの、軽傷で無事でした。
警察は、兄妹が火で遊んだと見ています。一方で、建物の安全管理態勢の面から、業務上過失致死容疑で捜査を開始しました。
